Yavin Medal Finishing Instructions
Below are instructions for finishing your Yavin Medal in a Gold Finish. As always, if you have any questions, please reach out!
1. Wash the Medal with cold water using dish detergent.
2. Primer the Medal. Using grey auto body primer (you can get it at Walmart or local auto store), spray a few very light coats. It is important to do a few light coats rather than a thick coat. Let dry over night.
3. Spray Gold. Using Rustoleum Gold paint (other types should work too) spray a few light coats, letting the Medal dry between coats. Lighter coats are better than a thick coat
Let the Medal dry over night.
4. Attaching the Ribbon to the Medal: I always use Super glue. Either this or I use screws. Never use hot glue as the heat from the glue will melt the paint and lesson it's "attachment capability". The ribbon will eventually detach from the Medal and also pull off the paint. Never use hot glue on paint.
Hope this helps! Reach out if you have any other questions.
